Purpose of role:

- To work with the Manager and team in your pub or bar to drive sales through relationships, events, day to day activities and effective marketing

- To target both consumer & corporate business in your area

- To build relationships with local companies to expand the site’s corporate portfolio

- To identify, grow and nurture relationships with corporate agencies, corporate and local business to increase pre-booked sales in your venue

- To identify and grow consumer pre-booked opportunities through regular communication with regular customers, and maximising company initiatives such as birthday offers, Christmas activities and general promotions

- Curate an engaging events schedule that drives footfall and, ultimately, sales, ensuring there is always a compelling reason to visit your venue. E.g. weekly quiz, monthly themed quiz, craft fayres, supper clubs, baby bingo, live music, comedy, etc.

- Effective, detailed communication with your team regarding all events and promotions, ensuring they are equipped with the relevant knowledge to confidently communicate with customers and execute events/bookings.

- Management of all bookings and events, including managing preorders.

Responsibilities:

• Research and engage with new and existing local companies, generating proposals, managing and nurturing key client relationships resulting in additional bookings and sales

• Develop and implement detailed sales plans for your venue, with the support of your General Manager, that enable you and your team to deliver prebooked sales targets and increase spend per head

• Ensure the sales plan is live every day within the business, keep it up to date and make it part of your working week

• Analyse and understand your local marketplace including competitor strengths and weaknesses, demographic trends, seasonal and corporate activity, tailoring your sales plan to make the most of any appropriate opportunities

• Engage your team in delivering your pre-booked revenue target and daily sales targets

• Have a good understanding of site and business requirements to enable the creation of exciting bespoke packages

• Communicate effectively with the site teams to ensure the successful delivery of the bookings, greeting key bookings personally, ensuring correct set up and immediate customer satisfaction

• Give each enquiry and confirmed booking an exceptional customer experience, every time

• Identify, attend, and run relevant trade show stands and networking events such as inhouse showcases

• Support the venue and complete any necessary activities that are required from an operational perspective

• Fully understand and adhere to the company policies and online booking system

• Ensure Collins is set up to auto confirm as much as possible, and that all enquiries are answered within 24 hours

• Ensure efficient diary management by whole team

• Maintain accurate information on websites, including menus, drinks lists and “what’s on”

• Management of your venue’s social media channels, creating content and ensuring regular posting, adhering to an agreed split and regularity of subjects, using this as a sales tool and maintaining good engagement with existing and potential guests

• Monitor Reputation and ensure that all reviews receive an appropriate response, turning any negative reviews into an opportunity to delight

• Ensuring accurate information is displayed across all platforms e.g. Google, Booking.com, Trip Advisor etc.

• Designing effective point of sale (e.g. posters and flyers) for site specific events and promotions, adhering to marketing guidelines, ensuring all in venue messaging is clear, concise and accurate

Knowledge & Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Dynamic interpersonal skills.

• Confidence to interact with guests face to face, via phone and email.

• Proficient use of Canva, Collins and Wordpress. (training available for the right candidate)

• Attention to detail.

• Use of social media to engage with guests and drive sales.

• An element of direct sales experience or experience of selling products and or services to the public.

• Experience of working in a team.

• Experience of delivering exceptional results and KPI’s.
