We want our Jr Sous Chefs to be our Head Chefs of the future. Our Jr Sous Chefs should be the stability and enthusiastic force behind our Head Chef & Sous Chef. We want creative, passionate people to deliver consistent, fresh, seasonal food. We expect great health & safety standards, and a well-trained team.
We need proper chefs that cook great ingredients perfectly every time, our main menu changes with the seasons, and we love specials that show imagination, flair, and personality.
As a Junior Sous Chef we expect you to step into the Sous Chef’s clogs when they are off. Therefore, you will have a good understanding of how dishes are costed and have input to menu development, and daily specials.
You will be part of the back of house management team and as such will need good people management skills, alongside high personal standards.
You can also opt be a part of the Portobello Training Academy, a training scheme we're really proud of, that's been created to help each team member move into the next role with confidence.
