General Manager - Kennington

Kennington - London £42,000 plus TRONC and bonus with OTE over £50,000

We are looking for a General Manager for The Old Red Lion in Kennington, a traditional pub close to the busy Kennington Tube Station. The Old Red Lion has long been a favourite of the community, with a great reputation for craft beers, wonderful hospitality, after works drinks and family gatherings, it has a big outdoor drinking and dining area with great potential for further growth.

Our new GM will be very ambitious and driven to make a name for themselves by exceeding sales expectations, using the location of the building and beer garden as assets, and establishing themselves as the face of Kennington.

Experience of being a GM before is desirable, but ambition and enthusiasm are even more important, and this could be a chance for a very confident and experienced deputy to take their first big challenge.

What you offer us?

You will work closely with your management team, including your head chef, to drive a team effort to deliver a great experience for our customers on every shift, partnering the finest food with our unique drinks offer, building an atmosphere that makes you the beating heart of every shift.

You will be fully responsible for the pubs P&L, so

converting sales to profit is also important. You will have an eagle eye for

detail, ensuring our guests journey from beginning to end will leave them

wanting more.

You will be at the forefront of training your team, with a genuine passion to develop and nurture your future stars and in turn, take your business forward. We believe in developing a strong bench, having a succession plan in place to reduce any recruitment needs and in turn develop our people into the next Portobello General Managers.
